F is for Figging

I tried to illustrate but it turns out I have no skill in carving buttplugs from ginger. There are many examples online of how it should actually look, and instructions for those who'd like to have a go.

Figging is the practice of putting a bit of skinned and carved ginger root into the vagina or butthole.

Apparently the ginger juices result in a sensation that begins as a mild warming tingle and then builds to a very intense, almost intolerable burning sensation. The effect is at its highest intensity for the first few minutes and then begins to subside back to a warm fuzzy feeling over a period of about 20-30 minutes whilst the oils are depleting. If you clench your butt cheeks this should intensify the sensations.

Allegedly figging was used historically as a method of punishment for wayward women. But I've also read that during the Victorian times, just before a horse show, a piece of ginger was sometimes put into a horses bum to make it hold its tail up and look more elegant.

Nowadays, figging is a rare BDSM activity, and practitioners very willingly offer up their orifices for a ginger buttplug. As with most sexual activities the reasons for why people want to do figging are varied, but beside the typical masochistic element, one reason I have seen given time and time again is that it appears to have an effect on increasing desire and heightening pleasure.

PS. You can also put hot sauce on a dildo for similar effect.
